The NDLR Fest: Annual Showcase for Digital Learning Resources, takes place on March 23rd, in the Science Gallery, Dublin. This is an event not to be missed for anyone interested in learning more about how your academic peers around the country are using digital learning resources in their teaching practice. Showcasing NDLR funded digital learning resource projects developed in the past year including:
The main aim of this event is to showcase the wide array of digital learning resources and associated Teaching and Learning activities that have been generated across all subject disciplines in the Irish HE sector as well as celebrate the collaborative process in which these resources have been developed. The LabVIEW Academy was launched this week at Dublin City University (DCU) by the National Instruments (NI) Academic Programme Manager, David Baker, and Dr Dermot Brabazon, Associate Dean for Research in the Faculty of Engineering & Computing.
This Academy represents a significant investment from NI and DCU in student training on the latest data acquisition, analysis and control technologies. The LabVIEW Academy programme, developed by National Instruments, combines face-to-face teaching with hands on lab exercises, preparing students for their future careers by developing their skills in using the visual programming language LabVIEW created by National Instruments.
NDLR funded E-Books project to showcase at this year's Annual LIR Seminar! This NDLR funded project follows on from a UL Research Seed Fund and PRTLI4, HEA funded on-going project as part of the Irish Social Sciences Platform. The 2011 LIR Annual Seminar will take place on Friday March 25th, in The Davenport Hotel, Dublin. The Seminar will analyse the current issues surrounding e-books and their use in Irish Libraries, as well as showcasing developments and experiments in the area. In addition, the Seminar will consider the impact of ebooks for Library users and technology. A number of highly regarded keynote speakers have been confirmed for the day, including Paul Harwood from JISC Collections, and Sarah Thompson & Steve Sharp from York & Leeds Universities.
